Welcome to the Castlegar Garden Club Website!

The Castlegar Garden Club was founded in 1996, but began unofficially five years earlier by a group of avid gardeners gathering around the kitchen table. Bob Switzer (1915 - 2007) provided the original spark.

The club has grown over the years. Meetings are third Wednesday of the month, 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. at the Castlegar & District Community Complex.Guest speakers, workshops, and horticultural expeditions impart a fresh perspective. In summer (June – Sept.), meetings are held in members' gardens . . . enjoying the outdoors and sharing ideas and garden lore over potluck appetizers.

May is busy with the Annual Plant Sale and co-hosting the Castlegar Garden & Nature Fest with Castlegar Communities In Bloom. The end of June Castlegar & Area Garden Tour is one of the highlights of the year. We support local causes, participate in the Adopt-A-Road Program, and provide flowers for our unique ‘Blossoms For Biffies’ for the Blue Grass Jamboree & Pass Creek Fall Fair.  The Castlegar Garden Club meets every third Wednesday of the month at the Castlegar Community Complex.  The Castlegar Garden Club meets on every third Wednesday of the month at the Community Complex in Castlegar.
